Mark's Weight Loss Progress

Laurie's Weight Loss Progress

This Week's Workout Plan

This past week we worked really hard working out (look for pictures soon of Laurie's workouts with her trainer). This week Laurie worked out five days a week doing cardio and three of those days encorporated weight lifting and strength trainer with the trainer. Mark worked out three days doing cardio and one night playing hockey with the guys!

Huge Success!

So we haven't updated anyone all week on our progress, we have been too busy working out and trying to get the normal day to day things done!  (And trying to get this website looking good, which if you ask me is NOT user friendly and way too hard to use - we will work on it more this week!)  Anyway, wanted to give everyone a complete update.  I worked out 5 days this week and Mark was able to fit in 3 days (and a hockey game!) and we stuck to our diets and both had HUGE success this week.  I lost 6 pounds and Mark lost six pounds!  Amazing!  I am sure our numbers won't be so big next week, but those numbers are still pretty impressive!  We spent the afternoon today cooking for the week and getting everything prepared so that hopefully this week will be a little smoother.

Look for an updated page soon with new pics!

Day 2 and we going strong!

So today is day 2 for us.  We are off to a good start (finally!)  I packed breakfast, lunch and snacks for Mark to take on shift today.  I think he got a little teasing from Sgt. but I am sure that it was all in good fun!  We are working off the biggest loser club diet plan and although I will admit I am a little hungry this afternoon I think my body simply needs to get adjusted.  I haven't talked to Mark yet to ask him if he was hungry at all today.

Tomorrow I go back to working out with my trainer after a 2 week break because of the holidays.  I am sure that she is going to kick my butt!  An hour with her and an hour of aerobics following my training session.  It will be so worth it though!

I picked out a dress that I would like to buy to take on our trip to Paris in May.  I have to work my butt off to get into the dress.  I refuse to buy it unless I have reached by halfway goal of 65 pounds.  (I am already down 10 pounds from before the challenge began, so I only have another 50 to go to buy the dress!)

I am cleaning the house this afternoon and I have been watching these shows all day on The Discovery Health Channel about "Obese America".  If watching these shows is not motivation to get off my butt and change my life, then I don't know what would be.  I feel sad for the people in the stories I am watching.  While I know I have a long journey ahead, these people have even tougher roads ahead.

Well the afternoon is slipping away and I still need to figure out how to get our page looking the way we want it.  I don't think Windows Live is that user firendly!  Does anyone out there know how to add the backgrounds and logos that you were able to download when you signed up for the challenge?  Or how to add a weight loss tickler to the page?  Any help would be appreciated!

Much love to everyone out there!
Keep working towards your goals!

We are ready to go!

So today is the day!  "D" day!  Diet Day, The first day of the rest of our lives day - whatever you want to call it!

Last night I went to the grocery store to stock up on food for the next two weeks in order to prepare us for a healither lifestyle.  My bill came to nealy $300!  Eating right is truly expensive, but it will be so wirth it!

Last night we took our "before" photos which are truly scary to me.  Here is a girl who was a cheerleader for 10 years (and a hot one I might add!)  And a former Marine who used to be in top notch shape.  I'm not really sure what happened to either one of us along the way, and I don't think either one of us wants to make excuses for ourselves we just know that we need to do something.

Mark was rushed out the door this morning before work without taking any food with him.  He promised me that he would find something healthy to eat today while at work.  I am sure he will - he always keeps his promises.

As for me, I am planning on working out this morning and I am armed with tons of great healthy foods at my fingertips for breakfast and lunch.  It's dinner that I am worried about.  I am going to see a play in Philadelphia tonight and then headed out to dinner.  I'm worried about dinner, but I think I will be able to make a good choice.  I am past the point of fried foods, pizza, chips, etc - I don't feel like myself in my own skin.  So I know I will make a good choice for dinner tonight.

Good luck to everyone out there.  We are off to start the first day of a changed life!

Ready to begin!

So I will admit, my hubby and I got off to a slow start, okay so we haven't started yet.  We pretty much let life get in the way this past week.  Tomorrow we have decided will be our first "offical" weigh in day (look for new pictures tomorrow!) and the day we change our food.  I am hitting the supermarket tonight armed with two weeks worth of "Biggest Loser" Menu meals and I am ready to go!

We have everything else at our fingertips for next week, sessions with a trainer, exercise equipment at home and most importantly friends and family who are supportive!

Wish us luck, we are ready to go!

100 pounds to go for me (less than what I weighed in college!)
40 punds to go for Mark (what Mark weighed when he got out of the Marine Corps!)
